The Southeastern Institute for Women in Politics is a non-partisan organization seeking to increase the numbers of women holding elective office in various states. The Institute runs campaign schools, seminars and even fun stuff, like this one coming up Sunday.

Sounds like fun, but the acronym is unpronounceable. Something like PLOTSE--political ladies of the south east has a certain ring to it.
Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifiction Act is called WARN. the government gets all the good ones.
I formed a luncheon group years ago called Ladies of the Sciences (LOTS), then some men felt left out so we renamed it Librarians of the Sciences and one or two guys came, and soon it wasn't a social group, but a working committee and no longer fun.
